Default tps ?

I have a question about the tps. Will the ecu throw a code if the tps is not adjusted correctly? the reason I ask this is because I changed out my tps tonight because it was broken. We set it to .38 volts at idle reset the ecu and started the car. threw code 7 again. We packed it up for the night because it was to cold outside(10 degrees). Just wondering because the car idles fine and seams to rev up fine. thanks

You'll only throw a code if the tps isn't connected, check your wiring.

That's not true, the TPS has a fine adjustment similar to your distributor and requires a proper voltage. If you have it set off and the voltage is not within spec, it will trip the TPS cel as if it were unplugged.

say I set the idle volts to .5 and I can't get WOT volts to 4.50. Is that bad. Meaning another bad tps?

I there some magic trick to adjusting the tps. I am on the middle wire red/blue and I have adjusted the tps by loosining the bolts on it and moving it from left to right. Now all I get is .13 volts at idle which ever way I go (left to right). Is there a difference in adjustment with the screws on the top and bottom of the tps that hold it to the manifold? What am I doing wrong?

nope
if its mis-calibrated it will give a CEL too, as vtec villian said.
