Default taking powersteering OUT!

i have a 95 integra ls and want to take the powersteering off the car for good. i don't really NEED ps and the ps pump just take up too much space. from wat i can see there's one tube that goes from the pump to the rack and pinion and one that goes from the rack and pinion back to the pump (return line). Do u jus unbolt those two hoses from the rack and pinion and take everything out? i asked my technician the same question and he said that i should replace the WHOLE rack and pinion because crap might get inside those holes or sumthin and that there wont be anything to libricate the rack and pinion or sum bs like that. any help? thanx!

Just plug the hoses on the rack with bolts and go on your way. That's what I did when I did my swap. You can swap a manual rack in if you wanted to, but it is really a pain in the ***.

people always say not to plug the holes that the rack will go out and you should put a non ps rack in. Mine has lasted for 3 years so far and if it goes out THEN i will put a non ps rack in. Doesnt make sense to do when its still good. Take it off you really dont need Power steering in a little honda, In my opinion.

Keep in mind a Honda manual rack has a steering ratio of about 20.4:1
99-00 Civic Si power rack is 17.0:1
ITR power rack is 14.0:1

So, if you plan on taking any corners think about what you want to do! Personally, I'm putting in an ITR power rack and just not hooking it up

If I were you, I'd keep it--after awhile driving your teg around w/no power steering it just gives you that old car feeling (just my opinion though). I'm putting mine back in. My car's starting to handle weird.
