I don't think it would be useless but it wouldn't be a speed demon. Remember the JDM Integras came with a base 130hp SOHC ZC motor so a 170 hp B16 would be alot faster. The RS weighs roughly the same as a 99-00 Si so should perform the same.

What are you going to do about the transmission?
I shudder at the thought of a heavy integra with a torqueless b16 and an Ls tranny

do you know what torque is?
or what it does?
an LS motor with a b16 transmission will b.eat a b16 in the 1/4 mile and up to about 110mph.

I hear this same argument all the time. It's always the "gOtz VtEcK yO!" people who still have a stock 92 CX on it's last leg, telling others that the B16A is way better than a B18B. I say own a car with both and you will see in the real world - the streets, that a B18B will walk on a B16A. You don't need to rev to 20,000,000 RPM's before you feel the power.
I'm not saying that the B16A isn't a good motor, but if you are looking for more "useable" power, the B18B is a much better starting point. And just think, you could bolt a VTEC head onto the block with some minor mods and be just as "cool" as the next "gOtz VtEcK yO!" guy.
