Default ls/rs vtec

I know this is probably going to sound really stupid but i have to ask, is there a difference in using an rs or ls head? i don't think so but i need to make sure because i am about to buy an rs and i was going to go rs/vtec and just needed to make sure that it would work. I think it will and i have researched a lot of different things but nobody says anything about the rs. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

the motor people refer to when they say the "LS motor" is the b18a/b. RS trim packages, along with GS and SE's came with these motors. the b18a being the 90-93 motor and the b18b being the 94+. it is commonly refered to as the LS motor because thats easier to say than b18b
