Default Whats the difference between 92-93 ls motor and a 94+ ls motor

i have a 95 eg, I think that im leaning twards doing an ls swap. then turbo down the road instead of turbo charging my 1.5L. My question is, Is there a major performance or instalation difference between the 92-93 ls motor and the 94+ ls motor?? either way i plan to use a 94+ B series tranny. I would greatly appreciate all of your help. Thanks

Not really. Mounts are the only significant difference.

first of all, dont make titles in all caps, that is frowned upon. And for the motor i dont think there is much of a difference, just make sure you get a b18b not b18a

'92-93 engines are stamped B18A1. '94-01 engines are stamped B18B1.

The '92-93 B18A1 is pretty much identical to the B18B1.

The '90-91 B18A1 is the one with slight differences.

I'm not 100% positive but...
'90-'91 B18A OBD0 rated at ~130hp
'92-'93 B18A OBDI rated at ~140hp (I think it had a longer duration intake cam)
'94-'95 B18B same as '92-'93, but with a better intake manifold
'96+ B18B OBDII and I think It came with knock sensing

someone correct me if I'm wrong

if you get a 92-93, make sure you get the driver's side mount bracket from a 94+ motor.
