poor man's type-r easy or not?
im sure this has probably been asked before but i searched and found nothing so im sorry.
anyways, i was thinking of getting a b16a but you guys talked me into getting a b18c. i was thinking maybe i can get the b16a and use the 1k i save to go towards saving for a b18c block. my question is, if i do this, can i just change the blocks in my garage? no modifying just take off one and BOLT on the other. i really wont be saving 1k because i wont have it. i can just get my swap now and save for a few months and make it a 1.8.
thank you for any replys

jsut save the initial 1k for the B18c motor to begin with, then u wont have the hassle in the first place. plus u end up with lower compression with the B16 head on the B18 block. u wont gain anything at all, if not lose performance. u wont have ITR cams, ITR intake mani, or valve springs. save ur money get hte B18c1 first.

can you use a B18A or B18B block instead?
what are these called in the US? (are they refered to as LS motors?)
will the B16A head match up to a B18C block?
is the B18C manifold better than the 1st gen JDM B16A manifold?
lots of simple Q's - thanks for any answers
(sorry for jumpin' you thread ekekek)

B18a and B18b r commonly referred to in the US as LS motors. the B16a manifold does bolt up to the B18c block directly, however u will need a B16a rear manifold bracket. the B18c intake manifold is no better nor any worse than the B16a intake mani. however the B18c has a smaller more "oval" combustion chamber. its approx .3 compression pts difference (higher).
