p06 or p28?
I did a p06 obd1 swap into my obd2 98 dx (p2e ecu). The p06 made the engine light came right on, and the throttle revs up and down. Is a p06 not compatible with my 98 dx?
Would a p28 work better?

A p28 wouldn't be better because that is a SOHC vtec computer. Your Check Engine light would still come on because the computer would be looking for a VTEC soilnoid. Jump the p06 and find out what the code is. It just might be a bad sensor and that could be the reason why you have a light on and why your car is idling all crazy.
Did you change the IM on the 98 DX motor?
98 DX uses a 3 wire Idle valve, where as OBD1 uses 2 wire. If you change your 98 DX manifold out to the 92-95 style, or the 96+ EX style you'll have the 2 wire idle valve.
