Default opinions on budget setup

I have a tight budget and would like to get a swap for my 94 Si. I got qouted a good price on a 2000 B20Z block with a 95 LS head milled to provide 10.0.1 compression, 95 LS ECU. and a GSR tranny with new ITR clutch & flywheel. I'd also keep the AC and PS as well as get I/H/E a fuel pressure regulator and have it dyno tuned. Would this make a good daily driver? What kind of power and ETs would this setup yeild?

how much can I mill the head without running the risk of the valves hitting the tops of the pistons? and what compression will it yield? What would be a good compression? Id rather use pistons to raise the compression rather than mill the head excessivley.

if you want power get a b18b ls tranny and a gsr head even an older model ls will do if your on a tight budget an ls motor is around 1,200 or so take a look it is well worth it

IMO any CRVtec or LS/Vtec is not really a budget setup. Anyways, I think your plan is a good start. I second upping the compression if you're staying n/a. The GSR trans is a good idea over the LS trans. I'd replace the stock rod bolts with ARP's while you are at it.

Good luck

At this moment I have no intention on going with a VTEC head, but could I build the bottom end for VTEC duty in case I change my mind and keep the LS or B20 head for the time being? What would I need to do? , toss some higher comp. 84.5 slugs and add VTEC oil and water pumps. Anything else?
