Default Obd2a p72 us on a LSv in a 98 civic Dx

I have a 98 Dx hatch 5sp. I dropped in a LSv made from a 92 LS bottom and a 99 B16a2 head. I'm using the original ewh with the vtec and vtec oil pressure ran. Also did the 2 wire iac. I also did install the knock sensor. I didn't run the second 02 sensor. I'm running a chip p30 obd1 with a jumper harness. It was working fine until my check engine light came on for vtec solenoid. Replaced it with no results. Swapped ecu with a friends p28 and vtec works.
My question is I have an obd2a p72 ecu. Can I use it? Any thing else I have to do? Install the second o2? Install a crank sensor?? I don't have a cat. Converter. I just want to find out what things may come up and what things I have to do. Cause if just get another obd1 ecu might be better.

best bet is to get a obd1 ecu and have it tuned. you don't have a stock engine, so you should not run a stock map
