I used the civic harness wih prelude plugs
Civic Prelude

TDC + grn to orn/blu
- red to wht/blu

CKP + Blu to blu/grn
- wht to blu/yel

CYP + yel to orn
- blk to wht

I had three wires left two of them were for the coil
and the colors match. then one left over on both the plug and harness
so I connected them.

Try this. Make sure that your cluster is getting a clean signal first off. Pull the cluster out and find the blue wire on the left side cluster plug (closet to the driverside window). That is your tach wire.... splice into it (or cut it off temporarily so you get a clean true signal) and run a wire from that back to the negative side of the ignition coil. See if the tach works.... if so, then you know somewhere the wiring in the harness is probably grounding out. If you still have the same problem, then check your distributor wiring.

Maybe the distributor is going bad. Mine started acting wacky the day before it died.
