Default Need help JDM B18C Type R in 00 Si

Hi my name is David and i have a 2000 Civic Si with a JDM B18C Engine+Tranny. Only thing missing that i actually have is my JDM type R ECU. Thing is im still running on the Si ECU becuase i have the Si Harness. I need help in figuring out what i should do. Alot of people told me to get a USDM type R ECU and it should plug right up with my Si Wiring harness. Other people said i should have a harness custom made to fit the JDM type R ECU. Some advice would be appreciated. thanks.

well the JDM type R ecu would be a bad choice - you'll never pass emissions, and I believe that it is calibrated for different fuel. I would either get a Kenji chiped P28 OBD1 ecu, an OBDII P72 USDM Type R ecu (should plug right in), or a P28 and a Hondata... (you will probably need an OBD2 >>1 harness for this). Do you have to pass emissions with your setup? If so, you might want to try the USDM ITR Ecu. OBD2 sucks however, and the ITR ecu would only be a good choice if you are worried about emissions...

Check http://www.hondata.com for more ecu information - they could probably give you better guidance.

Sounds like you're in need of an ecu jumper harness adaptor. All of the JDM ITR ecu's (even 99-01) use the 96-98 ecu plug style. If you're interested I sell this jumper (99-01 to 96-98 ecu jumper).
