Micro polish J's on Ls crank
What are everyones opinions on micro polishing the journals of a crank? Pros, Cons?
I dont know how many miles it has on it, but they don't seem to have any scaring or scratches.
It is going into an fully built na engine. Thanks for the info!

Re: Micro polish J's on Ls crank (scratchback)
If there are no nicks or scratches on the crank there is no need for it. If you can see any scratches in the crank then just take it to a machine shop and do it. You'll probably have to get thicker bearings after you get it done though.

Re: Micro polish J's on Ls crank (97TypeR_9)
you cant micropolish a honda crank they use a process where you cant micropolish it. If you do you will throw bearings all day. and the factory oil clearnces are so tight between like 7 ten thoutenths that it is allmost inpossible to get thoses clerances with micing the crank. Also honda cranks are made for trimetal bearings and most aftermarket bearings are bi metal. DONT DO IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!
