Default Rod bearings.

Does anyone know if you turn a crank 30? Search is not working and I can't seem to find this any where else. Spun a rod and the crank is pretty screwed. Thanks

Luke

Properly machined, a turned crank will not cause a bearing failure.

I dont know who even makes OS bearings. The Honda ones dont I believe...

By the time you pay for machine shop costs, you could probably find a used OEM crank for less...And since the factory forged cranks have been proven, why not?

Unless you have some special billet stroker crank or something!

I believe King makes bearings in that size for honda applications. And as another guy said, if it's clearanced and grinded properly you shouldnt have any problems.

i've had two motors wasted by having a shop turn down my crank.
he said the furthest he could get oversized bearings is .025 over
in my opinion, i would just get a new crank or in my case find a better shop.....

90% of the time I see a Honda crank with a spun rod bearing, the crank is cracked. You can get it magnafluxed to determine if it is cracked or not. If it is no cracked, then getting it sized is no problem; although you may want to re-nitride treat the crank after sizing! Just my experiences!

Oh, by the way, bearings usually call out sizes in MM.
.25 mm is 1/4 mm smaller rod journal diameter ( aprox. .010" / 0.0098425" to be exact )
.5 mm is 1/2 mm! (approx .020" / 0.019685" to be exact )
