I was auto-Xing my car today (B17A1 swap) and the driverside motor mount ripped off the block, all 3 bolts. There is no thread inside the engine block at all and one of the bolt holes is leaking antifreeze.

I can get a B18A block to do the LSVtec conversion. Basically all I will do is swap the heads and various B17A parts to the B18A block. I have a chipped P28 with a rev limit of 7800rpm. I am planning on building the bottom end, but I need the car as a daily driver for the time being. What should I look out for?

 

according to the compression calculator, using your b17 pistons in on LS rods would yeild a 10.33 C/R. i would want to go for mid - 11's but its up to you.
thigs you have to look out for is an ls/vtec is the following:

use high end oil pump ( GSR or ITR )
use your b17 water pump with your b17 timing belt
use ARP rod bolts, b/c stock LS rod bolts are notorious for streaching at high RPMs
use HONDA bearings
get the whole freekin bottem end balenced * very important *
do NOT tee off the block when running the oil line
make sure your fuel pump is up to par
(optional) 310CC injectors
