A little swap help . .
Alright guys i would like to apologize in advance if i confuse anyone, b/c frankly i myself am pretty confused lol. Ok so i have two cars (00 civic EX & 94 civic vx hatch). I also have three motors; D16Y8 (00 ex), B18C1 (just bought), sum Dseriez in the hatch. Now i am going to be putting the D16 from the 00Ex into my 94 vx Hatch, and the b18c1 into my 00ex.
Here are my questions . . .
1) When swapping the d16(from 00ex) into the hatch, am i using the D16(from the 00ex) ecu and wiring ?
2) Could i use the clutch from the VX on my EX tranny ? ?
THats all that really comes to mind for now, but if there is anything you guys want to add to make this project easier for my n my friends . . go right ahead . . write-ups would b Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr8 !

Re: A little swap help . . (makaveli284)
beware OBD.
you need all of the sensores/harensss form the ex as well as the dizzy and ecu, and (not sure) probably the sub harness.
the clutch shoud fit, but why not get a new one (not that expensive)
one more thing comes to mind. what year is the GSR, if it's a 95/95 then you'll be converting to OBD1 and you can use your spare VX harnes/ subharness without modification. if it's 96+ then you need to adjust you priorities or get another OBD2 harness. or get an OBD1 ecu/distributor/oil pump, and convert to OBD1
enjoy

Re: A little swap help . . (Downey)
<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by Downey »</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">could make it easier on urself and just put the B18C into the EG.</TD></TR></TABLE>
That is VERY true and i have thoght about doing that . . ALOT, but i have decided to keep the EG as my beater b/c i bought it for $400 and the body is VERY beat up and i would have to do ALOT of work to the body, suspension and all to get it to be able to handle a b18c1. Any other advice . . Any say to how long something like this might take guys ? ?
