jrsc h22 ek

Re: jrsc h22 ek (ekhatchb16)
doubt it. saw my friend frankie's ek h22, and he had about a half an inch of clearance for the intake manifold and firewall. and i'm pretty sure the jrsc is a little bit larger volume wise.

I posted that pic up in a old post just like this, i'll see if i can find it.
EDIT! HERE YOU GO. I don't know whos this is, but i had it on my HD from ALONG time ago. BTW: I didn't Photochop this, like i said in a Archived post, there was a post of this from along time ago, and there were different views of this swap. Some may remember, and probably most don't.
not much room to work though.

Re: jrsc h22 ek (chyknees)
I remember that pic for awhile back, and even though the pic looks fuzzy at some parts (I'm not going to get into a photoshop dicussion/debate on this one), I'll point out some of the obvious stuff about the engine placement and such.
If you look the driverside mount, it's using a stock Prelude mount so it's had some new frame brackets welded into the car and from the placement of the driverside mount, the motor is sitting more forward than say using the HCP EK-22 mount kit. But on an EK chassis, you can get away as there's more clearance up front between the motor and rad core support. But when you move the motor more forward like that, you put a lot of stress on the axles as they'll be at a bad angle. But then to get around that, you would tilt the motor forward, thus puting the transmission axle location back towards the firewall again, but then giving the motor bad oil pick up. It's hard to tell from that angle of the pic if the motor is tilted forward or not. Besides that, the driverside of the timing belt cover looks like it's waaay over to the passenger side, where as in most cases it's maybe a couple inches of clearance right there. Otherwise, moving the motor too far over to the passenger side, you'll need to run very short axles, even shorter than 89 Integra axles from the looks of that pic, but again it's at a bad angle.
There's more I can bring up but I'm just pointing out some things that are noticable. Not saying that it's fake or it can't be done.... it can be done with the right mods and such, and if you have some enginuity & fabrication skills, but there are also a lot of factors that you must consider with placement of the motor.
