Integra LS with SI tranny swap
I just installed a 00 Si tranny into my LS teg, but I am having a problem. All gears 1-5 work perfectly, but Reverse is real hard to get into. I am sure the reverse gear, and synchros are fine.
Has anyone encountered anything liek this, and if so, what needs to be done to fix it.
PS I also installed poly bushings for the transmission, and shifter linkage.

hmm..perhaps the upgraded shift linkage bushings are causing the problem. Have you tried the '1st then reverse' trick? put the car in first gear, then try putting it in reverse and see if that does anything..
also, are you running a short shift kit at all?

Re: Integra LS with SI tranny swap (K@man)
well before I put the4 poly bushings in, I tried it with the stock rubber, but that didnt work.
I have also tried the first gear to reverse method, still no luck.
and I had a short shift kit, but I took it out long before I even put the tranny in.
I called a trannsmission shop today, and they charge $175 labor, and prolly another $100-150 for a reverse gear if I need it. I dont think I need a reverse gear since my car does go into reverse and works. I just cant stand how hard it is to get in and out of reverse.
any other ideas.

hm ok..
have you tried putting it in reverse while the car is off? and then trying to turn your car on (pushing down the clutch of course).

Re: Integra LS with SI tranny swap (K@man)
unfortunately yes I have tried that also.
I even got under the car while my buddy was shifting the car, just so I can see to make sure the linkage wasn't hitting anything.
I really hope the problem is not internal. It took me 8 hours to swap this tranny. I did it all by myself, and It was my first time. I really dont want to drop it out of the car again.
Please if you have any suggestions guys please post. I am willing to try any idea.

How hard is it to get into reverse? Like tough to get into or does it go into 4th?
EDIT: How hard is it to get into 1-5?

Re: Integra LS with SI tranny swap (Vtaaak y0)
It gets into 1-5 gear fine. They all kinda just click right into position.
Reverse is harder. I have to push kinda hard on the stick to shove it to the side, then kinda pull it down into reverse. It dosnt click into position liek it should, but it is liek half way in.
Getting the stick out of reverse is a bit tough also.

PS no I dont have a Short Shifter.
