Default Idle issues please help

I have a 97 JDM ITR in my EX and it was working perfectly for 8 months or so. then a few days ago i filled up with gas and then it started to freak out at idle.
The RPM's would bounce from about 800 up to 1,500 down far enough to stall the car out. My speedometer would jump around, from 0 up to 80 and twitch all around that range.
I am running with the JDM ECU with the EX harness if that makes a difference at all.
The shop that I take my car to (the only one in my area that will look at a swapped car) cannot get it in until thursday, but I don't want to be driving a stalling car around. Can I tighten the throttle cable to hold it at a higher idle so I don't have to worry about it stalling at least until I can get it in.

If you have any ideas it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the reply, it turned out to be a combination of the ground wire for the started that went bad and air trapped in my coolant system
