Default idle problems

car is a jdm 1997 si with b16 stock..

my problem is that the car wont always idle down, when i drive then slow down and pull into a parking lot or whatever the engine revs up to 2500rpm then slowly goes down after about 15seconds if i dont touch the throttle..

even if i rev the car up it still does it and slowly falls back to idle..

also sometimes it will idle high, then go down to about 1000 then as i park or whatever it starts bogging and idling low not wanting to run i have to play with the gas to keep it from stalling..

Ive tried cleaning the iacv with carb cleaner and then i unplugged it,set the idle to 700rpm with the screw in the throttle body with it unplugged then shut the car off, plug it back in and remove the battery cable for 30seconds..when i replace it and start the car it runs fine, but after i drive for a bit especially at high rpm then it wont idle down..

please help its very embaressing

Did you bleed your coolant?

Check FITV. Fast Idle Thermo Valve. There is a "life-saver" shape thing when you remove it and look inside. Turning it clockwise or counter clockwise will raise or lower idle. I forgot which direction will raise or low, so just trial and error now. But do check the FITV. Could be your problem.

take a looksy at the internal end of your coolant temp sensor, while it's cold.
