Default Hybrid swap completed!

Well, me and my other friend did the finishing touches on the '92 CX B18C1 hybrid yesterday.

One word...AWESOME!

It's amazing what adding 100+ hp will do to car. I mean, the car MOVES now. Don't get me wrong, my ITR runs great and scoots, but the hybrid just pulls so hard to redline. You can really feel the absence of weight in the car. I'm really happy.

I don't want to get flamed here by giving examples, so if you want to read about my adventures last night and today, look me up in the Kill Forum.

We do have a slight problem though. There is a small hairline crack up high in the tranny case. It's up high and won't leak that much, but I'm going to have to get it fixed this week.

Congrats! I feel the same way about my hybrid. It is definitely "AMAZING!" Time to go hunting for some rustangs!

Good Q. Not sure how it got there, but it wasn't by me. Salvage yards drain all the fluids before selling engines so I never caught it. I'll post a pic of it later.

BTW, Here are a couple of pics. Please keep in mind that I didn't even clean the car up yet.

Jack: I gotta get them on a new host. I only DL'd these 2 to Photopoint because people wanted pics.

Now Photopoint wants to charge us to host pics. I'm in the process of finding a new host.

Is your AEM CAI for a GSR or a Civic? If it is for a GSR, what mods did you have to do for it to fit?

I bought the GSR AEM. It's a larger diameter tubing than the Civic one. It fits under the chassis and nicely into the the covering of the splash shield. No real modification...just a tight fit.

Looks good man. Have fun with it. I know I have fun with mine on a daily basis. One thing I would reccommend if you don't have it already is a tuned ECU. IT made a world of difference in my car. Although mine is a ITR motor though.

Thanks!

Hey, is that an ITR front strut bar? It fits 5th Gen Civics?

BTW, clean hybrid you have there.

I have to figure out what I'm doing before I get an ECU. Hell, it runs so great right now.

Thanks. Ya it's an ITR bar. THey had to drill the mounting holes for it though. It would not bolt to the factory mounting points. Hopefully I'll be going with some better units in the future anyway. Maybe Spoon or Mugen.

Switch your pics to Yahoo pictures. You can store up to 30mb there. I am in process of moving mine there.
The car is coming along nicely!

Yeah, but I haven't looked at it. I stopped tape near the end because we ran into some problems. If I ended up making a tape still, I need to go back and record now with a hands on view/expanation on difficult parts.

I'll let you guys know if I decide to make this tape still.
