H2b intermediate shaft problem! Please HELP HELP HELP!!!!!!!!
I've got the qsd h2b kit where the rear intermediate mount has the welded nut version.
Everything went fine untill I came to the intermediate shaft mount, it all lines up and bolts go in, but once I tighten the bolts fully the shaft locks up and you really have to put loads of effort into turning the shaft with both my hands, once I loosen the bolts that go into the block only a half turn each the intermediate shaft loosens up and you can spin the shaft with your fingers. What's goin on, I can't seem to work around it.
Now I got hold of the older version mount which you have to use a nut and bolt and has 4 holes to bolt to the block, and that does the same thing.
I then tightened the mount up properly and loosened all the gearbox bolts and again same problem.
I even used several different half shafts, and I've gridded more than enough behind the block, you can actually see the gap so that can't be the problem.
I've took the mount in and out soo many times that I've threaded on of the holes at the back of the block I can't really use the original mount until I re thread the block because the original mount has three holes to bolt to the block!
What am I doing wrong! Somebody please help me out!

Is the intermediate shaft bracket mounted wrong? I had to grind down a bout 1/8"-1/4" of material from the top of the bracket to have it clear the oil cooler. Double check to make sure your bracket is not rubbing on the oil cooler and grind some material out if it is.

The bracket is defiantly mounted in the correct position, it only goes on one way and I also used another bracket and that does the same thing, I don't think theirs anything touching the mount but al double check anyway.
A d it's defiantly a manual one, I've got a few and I tried them all, even tried one that was of an already converted h2b!
What else could it be?

Did you use the dowel pins that go between the block and h2b kit and between h2b kit and transmission??

Al try that today!!
Do they come with the qsd h2b kit?
Or do I use the ones of the original gearbox?
When I took the gearbox off their was no pins on the engine side, they must be on the gearbox then?
Thanks for the help mate, al post a thread up of the build, the cars spec is pretty impressive

YES YES YES!!!! it worked!!!
note for everyone, life is a lot easier if you use the dowels!! i didnt have any!
thanks for the help 2fast4u831!!! really appreciate it
i put it all back together and its alot better now.
only thing is i can rotate it with my fingers about half a turn then the other half get slightly stiffer then once that half turn is complete it gets really loose again, have i damaged my lsd because i tried the other method soo many times?? and it is in neutral. or is that just the way it is?

Re: H2b intermediate shaft problem! Please HELP HELP HELP!!!!!!!!
another question, i got hold of a wiring loom that was already used on a h2b conversion before, but it was on a h22 prelude engine and mines a h22a7 type r engine, some of the wiring connections are different, shal i just remove the switches of the h22 prelude engine and swap them over to the h22a7 accord type r engine, or shal i re-wire them with using the original accord type r original loom?

Are the prelude distributors the same as the accord type r ones?
Saves me rewiring the lot, al just change the distributors.
