Hey guys, I'm new here. First honda I've owned. Come from ae86s and other old school Toyotas.

Quick run down:
Bought the car for 200 bucks with a smoky d15b8(not original motor)
The car is a 89 ef si.
Found out it was already obd1 converted and had at 1 point a b series in it.
Bought a 93 integra Ls motor complete.
Bought mounts and other stuff I needed.
Plugged it all in and it started right up with no wiring done by me!
From what I can tell injector resistor was removed,obd1 dizzy plugs were wired in, and obd1 jumper harness already installed.


So my problems are at first it was in limp mode at 2000 rpm or so. Was running a obd1 po5 ecu. It also had no cel with key on engine off.

Recently bought the correct obd1 pr4, which I was hoping would fix all my problems... It didn't, the limp mode rev limit is now at 2500 rpm and still no cel.

Also got a b18a1 map sensor didn't change much, seems to run a lol better.

I have jumped the check connector to get codes, but still no cel at ALL.
Took apart the cluster and switched bulbs, bulb was good still no cel.

Now obviously my ecu is in limp mode because of codes, which I cannot check at this point! this is what I need to fix!

I've searched around and haven't found much on no cel, mostly how to fix certain cel codes.

I know with corollas and other cars you can just wire in a bulb from the ecu pinout and work as a homemade cel, must be possible with Hondas?

I would love to get this thing outta limp mode so I can order linkage and axles and drive it once again!! Any help is appreciated and if any of you wiring gurus are in Washington state and wanna make some money I will also pay to get it
fixed. Have some pics of car and engine swap I will upload later. Thanks in advance if some of u guys reply.

I also checked the ecu fuse its not blown and the thermostat ground is correctly grounded.As well as tranny ground, also added a head to frame ground and alternator bracket to frame ground, and another neg battery to tranny ground

Turkey day bump. No one has ever wired up their own cel for whatever reason ????

Was the other motor running ok except for it smoking?

The old motor? Yes it was actually running pretty dang good besides it smoking. The new motor runs super good too! No noises or ticking. It doesn't smoke from what I can tell(only 2500 rpm).

Granted I found out from the previous owner that he never seen the cel before AT ALL so the old motor coulda been throwing codes as well.

I checked the bulb it's still good. Don't know if someone cut the wire or what's going on. Looking to possibly wire in a led bulb straight off the ecu.
I tried flashing codes with d4 pin and nothing. So I'm guessing wiring is altered in the under dash harness.
