Default h22 EG Type S Update..

For those of you that car, got the new rear tranny mount put on and the engine now sits so much cleaner and there is no less vibration from the car. Also installed the walbro high pressure fuel pump and the car feels so much more responsive and lively. I still have to lower static fuel pressure because with the pump it has now raised to like 44psi from the position of 40psi I had it set to.

I only have on other problem though, my short ram intake is seemingly not able to clear the fuel filter assembly causing me to use a ghetto stocking filter just to drive around. I was wondering if anyone else had an issue with fitment of their intake hitting the filter..

And what are my options of moving it to somewhere else more functional?? Any suggestions as usual is appreciated.. For now I will attempt to put back on the stock rubber like intake filter with the cone at the end to see if that would work in the meantime. I will also take some more pictures in a few days..

I have the same question... what intake should I use for the H22 eg? I want a 3 inch short ram, so what are my options? Thanks!

Hey thanks owen. I didnt want to pressure the car too early since I had a ghetto stocking over the Throttle body so I didnt push her into Vtec as of yet. But everything else is just about taken car of including the new speed sensor...

Just wanted to know if anyone else had issues with the fuel filter, or is it this special JDM motor that is messing with me again?? And what are my options for relocating it to somewhere else out of the way..??

I have a hard line like everyone else but I assume it can be adjusted or bent to a new location.. Just want to get more ideas...

Do you have any pics.. And its probably a little easier to do since you have an EK whereas your engine bay is a little bigger.. But pics or info would be greatly appreicated?? Also what did you use to bend the hardline.??

I used a 92-96 prelude AEM CAI. If you look at my pic:

You can see it works perfect. Just relocate the fuel filter mounting bracket. Its pretty much a must do anyways. If you see where my bypass valve is, during the winter I can take that off and the rest of the pipe and put my filter up in the engine compartment. See? But during the summer, the filter sits in an amazing position for cold air. I recommend getting it.

Good advise and I see it fits in the stock hole in the frame as well. But is it 3"?? I know the 96+ units were, but I am not too sure on the previous models. And I will have to take a pic of how close the actual tb is to the fuel line. I dont think anything will help without lots or rubbing..

On the eg hatchs you need to move the fitler over. If you look on it has 1 nut and 2 bolts holding it to the fire wall. Take all of these loose and then move the filter over only using one of the studs to attach it back to the firwall. Tighten it down and it should hold fine. Another option (if ur a baller) is to just pick up a aftermarket fuel filter with some an fittings and some stainless. Good luck. Also on my car i used a cai for an itr which is 3 inches and it fits great.

Hey thanks I will try that out. And that gives it kinda a slanted look right?? That way I should have enough room. When I was modding the tranny bracket I had to leave like the next day out of town so I didnt get a chance to really look at the bracket to see what is up.. I will try out your suggestions when I have some time and let you know how it went, along with taking some new pics..

good pointers shawn

I'm using just using a 3" short ram right now, the civic AEM CAI works fine, but is too small of diameter (2.75").

I think i'll have to get me ITR CAI and use that
