Has anyone used this kit before? Is it a good way to supply oil to the head? Also, everywhere that I go to research this kit states "The only thing you have to do is tap the head." Does that mean I still have to take the head to a machine shop?

P.S. I want to do an LS VTEC on an obd-I b18b1 with a obd-II b16 head. What would be the best computer to use for my situation if I wanted to retain obd-I?

Umm yes you do, you still have to take it to the machineshop to tap the head...i'm not sure about the golden eagle ls/vtec kit though...i was planning on getting it too with a obd-2 b18b1 and a first gen b16 head obd-1...

 

Tapping the head can be done in your kitchen ( trust me on that one.... long time ago! )

Our kit supplies EVERYTHING, even the tap and plug. So easy, so quick and the most reliable way to do an LS/VTEC conversion. There is nothing in this kit that a competent 5th grader cannot do! It really is THAT EASY! If you have any more questions, please let me know!

yea.. what Golden Eagle said.. tapping the head is for EVERY ls/vtec conversion.. because the LS block has no oil feed where that hole is..

 

i know what tapping the head is. lol, ive been researching this topic for about 2 months now. just wanted to know if it was hard to tap the head. and i already got my answer ^^
