i used it but i had a gsr head and it was simple, and made the job cake. the only problem i ran into was i was using ARP head studs and the conversion dowels would not fit over the threads. but i dont know why because oem head studs have the same diameter thread. my ls vtec rocked, best all motor i ever had until now and as far as reliable, everyone says they suck. i beat the liveing crap out of that engine and it just wouldnt die, until i boosted it untuned and ran it 20-25 x's a night at the track. i give it a

its a good kit but LS VTEC tends to be unreliable for a honda setup.... its about like having boost over 12psi on reliability standards for a DD.... its an ok setup but wouldnt be my choice for DD.

People have been using this kit for a very long time. I used one with my B20 and it never had any problems. If you install it right you will be fine. There is a thread on here about how to make a reliable LSV. For the most part though you will be fine.

b16,b18 and any other motor can be bought assembled by the pros at honda, however most ls/vtec setups are built by a back yard mechanic who just has a haynes manual and that is why they run like ***. or they go to a junk yard and get some old b18a block for 50 bucks and never rebuild the block. so they come out smoking like a cigarette

And how many people really know hos to do it corretly?? i know 4 or 5 guys who have done it and all have unreliable hunks.... cuz "they know stuff about cars" its a sweet setup if it works but im sketchy on it. I only have 1 DD car and i cant have it dying all the time.

I built my B20, same idea as a LSV. Also have a couple friends running LSV setups never with problems. I am still running a hybrid setup with no problems. It doesnt take much to properly build a hybrid motor.

im just telling u, ive only ever built 2, one with all oem parts accept arp studs using b18a block and c1 head and the other using race bearings, some good rings, arp studs, and a b18a block and a b17 head from the 93 gsr . my car ran 9.03 in the 1/8 mile at natural bridge in virginia and the other one ran 9.16 without the vtec hooked up at the same track. VA only has 1/8 mile dowm there. anyone want a ls/vtec built you supply the parts ill do the work for 350.00

I've installed about 5 Golden Eagle LS/V kits, all have worked great with no leaks or issues. As far as reliability, 4 of the 5 setups are still running, with 1 disable due to my buddy miss shifting on the track. . So if you build a LS/V correct you should have no problems. I do recommend sleeving a stock LS block, if picked up at a junk yard.

thanks guys, someones always knocking the ls/vtec. dont knock it until u have built it correctly. also i have a question for you, my buddy has a ls/v and he is buying high compression pistons for a type r to put in the ls block. we plan on doing it this weekend. it is supposed to push the compression over the 12/1 ratio. will those pistons definitly fit his block. thanks again
