Default Fired up the b18c1 today, and it won't hold an idle.

Whats up guys, I finally got the swap done (b18c1 into 98 ek),
and we started it up. Took some cranking over but fired up then
died. We continued to start it but it won't hold an idle, it just stalls
out. We reved it up and it seems like it runs perfect but as soon
as the rpms get down to idle it stalls out.
I'm also getting a check engine light, any trouble shooting ideas??
I wanna take her for a spin!! thanx

spray carb cleaner in the idle air control valve
and check what code you are throwing.

Where do you check what code you are throwing, the check
engine light is not flashing. Is there a light down by the computer?

Hey thanx for the tips guys, the code it is throwing is 14,
which has to do with the IAC. Now the IAC on the ek harness
is a 3 wire and the sensor on the b18c1 is a two wire. We matched
up the 2 wires correctly but do you do anything with the 3rd wire
(orange wire). The code is IAC circut failure, or IAC valve failure.

thanx for the help

you have to change pin locations on the ECU plug A, you can take out the orange wire completely and move the blue/black wire from A14 (or A15, i forget where it was) to A12 and that should solve the problem

The AICV still wont cause the car not to idle. Check your vacumn lines and make sure everything is either wired up properly and that there are no leaks. Find that and you will have a clean idle..

You may want to look at your throttle body as well and make sure everything is straight there also..

Hey thanx for the replies, i switched the pin location and the engine
ran perfect!!! I have been driving it for the past two days
and I freakin' love it!! Pulls real hard, so much more fun to drive
than the D.
Any opinions on what to put into it next? (just stock w/CAI) I was
thinkin' clutch and flywheel.

Thanx for the help, hybrids are fun
