ek b18c7 swap fuel pump issues
i've just finished doing a b18c type r swap from a dc2 into my ek1.
I'm using an ek4 harness and an obd2a to obd2b adapter and using the original dc2 ecu.
I lengthened the wiring harness to the ecu and tucked it through the quarter panel.
I had spark issues. fixed that :D
But now my fuel pump isn't priming when i turn the key. (can't hear it and nothing sprayed when i loosened the fuel filter)
The car turns over and has good compression.
The g101 - i think it is- ground is good.
The main relay doesnt seem to be the problem as i have checked it and swapped out the b series one.
All fuses look good.
Could it be the wiring harness - wrong cable spliced together- only ask cause they are three or four that are identical colours and may have accidentally mixed them up.
I need it running for work as im a contractor
Any and all help will be amazing.
i just ran the 5 to 7 jumper test. fuel pump turned on - now my filter is leaking at the top bolt under pressure. YAY!
But. it doesnt shut off after 3 seconds like its meant to, is this just because i have bypassed the main relay??

Re: ek b18c7 swap fuel pump issues
Just performed a continuity test on the main relay plug and this is what i got. based on the amount of negatives/grounds im assuming a wiring issue.

Ek4 Wiring Harnesses 1996-1998 Honda Civic
Initially I thought looking up the harness was going to help, but it turns out our quality control is sorta junk All of those harnesses are for different option levels (DX, EX, etc) Sorry I couldnt be of more help.

Re: ek b18c7 swap fuel pump issues
just got word on oz honda that apprently i have the wrong loom.
great :/
ek9 loom doesnt not work in a b swap ek1. repeat does not.
ek9 is a two piece harness. meaning the a plug is part of the cabin loom.
where as the ek1 is a single piece harness. all plugs come through the firewall together
ek4 is also a single piece harness. for god knows what reason.
but i have found the hopeful solution. just need a new loom :/

Re: ek b18c7 swap fuel pump issues
loom is replaced.
have suddenly lost spark. think its either icm or coil.
I was also blowing alt/vss fuse due to emp from the power cables run to starter and alternator. I'm hoping these were the reason for my idling issues.
i also have air in my cooling line and my ps fluid needs to be bled and replaced.
***** non stop.... but from the small time driving i had before my spark issue it definitely seems worth it :D
