EG swap
I bought a sohc 92-95 vtec engine, heres what I have engine, distributor, tranny clutch ECU all the sensors, and the shift lever and exhaust manifold. Here is my question: I have half of the wiring harness, I just have to plug it in the existing harness that goes to the ECU but do I have to run some more wires for the vtec solenoid? if so Does anybody have the pinout chart for the connection?
One more little question, can I keep the cx's shift linkage?

What engine did you get a B16A, D16Z6.....? Is it JDM? I beleive some of the models all ready have the wires for Vtec. If not you will have to run a wire for the Vtec Pressure (D6 @ ECU) and Vtec(A4 @ ECU) celinoid. If its a B series you will have to run a Knock sensor wire (D3 @ ECU).
Sounds like a D16Z6 from a Si.You can use the CX linkage. As a matter of fact you can use most of the CX parts. As far as the vtec goes, see above post for the pinouts to run it to at the ECU
it is a D16z6 from a si but are the wires for the vtec already included in the harness? because there is a part of the harness that came with the engine, it is the part linking all the sensors and the + terminal of the battery. If I just plug it in the original harness of the car, will the vtec work?
Honestly I'd need to see what is included in the harness you have to tell you if you can just plug it in.I'm not sure where the wires in the harness on the CX,that would go to the vtec pins end in that model. So it could be that they end under the dash,or they could go to the bay and end at the canon plug connections.can you post a pic of the harness you have from the motor?
