Which ECU should I use??
I have a '99 hatch and I'm about to put a '98 USDM gsr motor in it. I have the stock P72 ECU that came with the motor and I also have a skunk2 chipped P28 OBD1 ECU. Im using a si engine harness so i'll have to get a conversion harness either way, so i was wondering which ECU should I use??
Im probably going to be N/A for awhile with just bolt ons, the motor already has CTR cams. I'm also going to buy a Vafc to have it tuned with. So which ecu do you guys think would be best for me?
also, just out of curiosity, this motor put down 165hp/120tq with I/E, skunk2 IM, and CTR Cams. About how much more could I gain with say, an AN-R header and some tuning?
thanks
chris

If the P28 is rechipped to DOHC VTEC specs then that would be your best bet, especially since it's OBD1 and much easier to tune with. The stock P72 ECU that you have was designed for a stock GSR. Since you have a single runner Skunk2 manifold and CTR cams, the VTEC point would be too low. Get an OBD1 conversion harness and use the P28 and VAFC.

Which is why using the chipped P28 would have no affect on the secondary runners because there are none.
