D16Z6 Suggestions
hey all, I'm pretty sure I'm going to be doing a D16Z6 engine swap in my 1992 civic LX non-vtec and need some suggestions. What should I replace on the engine since it'll probably have around 100,000 miles on it? New intake, throttle body? Or can I use the ones I have now? Also, is the transmission the same on those engines? Finally, should I buy a new vtec wiring harness or would I just need to buy a vtec controller? Thanks in advance!

Over 100,000 miles on the motor. You don't need to replace the throttle body, intake and all that.
Only thing you need to mainly change is all of the gaskets and rings.
Like the Throttle body gasket, intake manifold gasket, exhaust manifold gasket, your pistons rings, main rod bearings.
If you want to get hard into the rebuilt and have it running in new condition, I would also have your block re-honed.
But mainly just the main rod bearings, piston rings, and all gaskets.
As for your question on the transmission, what exactly you mean? I would recommend you use the factory EX/Si S80 tranny, but a DX tranny will give you longer gears and do you well. Steer away from CX/VX transmissions.
As for wiring, you will not need to touch those, unless of course if you are having problems with any of the sensors.
HTH.

Re: D16Z6 Suggestions (xSpooNxEkx)
Hey man if your going to swap a D16Z6 i just took one out to do a B16A2 swap in my 95 civic. Prior to its removal i spent a grand getting my head ported polished, valve job, high performance valve springs, titanium retainers, new valve seats, heads been plained to min thickness. I have all the flow readings as well as the reciet for the work. If that is something that would interest you we can work something out. Let me know. Y ou can e-mail me at legendrcr74@yahoo.com.
