Default Confused, Need help on which a/c bracket to use!!?

ok, i'm doing a b18c swap into an 97 civic ex coupe...i brought an a/c bracket from a guy that told me it came from an 99-00 SI.. it had a P-30 stamped on it.. On the hybrid site it says to use a del sol bracket instead of the 99-00 SI bracket. The picture of the bracket on the site, had a p54 stamp on it but it said it was a 99-00 civic si bracket.. SO what do i have ?? do i have a del sol bracket or a 99-00 SI bracket?? and which one do i need? the del sol or the 6th gen SI bracket? please help.. thanx..

the one i have has the P-30 stamped on it

Hey:

I have a '95 Civic and '95 GSR motor, so if there is a change due to OBD stuff (which I highly doubt), what I have to say may not help you.

I got the P54 bracket for my swap, and it worked perfectly. My understanding when I ordered it, was that this bracket was from a DOHC Vtec Del-sol.

I too tried the P30 bracket and it did not work.

Here's my post:

Good Luck, hope this helps

Steve

If you are using the DX compressor and you you want to put a B-series swap in your EK you need to use the P54 bracket.

The P54 bracket is designed to run the 'Civic type' compressors.

Here is an interesting fact...the '99-'00 Civic Si uses the 'Integra type' compressor. That is why the '99-'00 Civic Si uses the P30 bracket just like '94-'01 Integras.

To answer your question...you need the P54 bracket. For the belt...you can use one off of a '94-'95 DOHC VTEC Del Sol. Or just find a belt that fits from your local auto parts store.

I thought you used the P54 bracket if you had a B-series engine and using a 96-00 civic compressor and you would use the P30 bracket if you had a B-series engine using a 92-95 civic compressor? Please verify?

I should clarify and state that I used the Civic compressor in my swap rather than the GSR compressor.

The reason I did this was to avoid having custom AC lines made.

I would be willing to bet that the P54 is the right bracket for you, but make sure you buy it from someplace that will take it back.

Steve.
