Choices -- read and decide

Choices -- read and decide
I am going to be getting rid of my Si sometime soon, and want to replace it with a hatch. I am most likely going to go with a EK hatch since i really like the style and hybrid EG's are common as dirt around here.
However, i am torn between a few engine choices. I am NOT going to do a B16 since it wouldnt be fast enough compared to my current car.
I thinkin either H22 or B18C1....the H22 would be nice for its great torque numbers but the swap isnt nearly as easy as a B-series and its not as well supported in the aftermarket as the GSR would be. The GSR has its advantages and disadvantages as well, the latter of which being the high price and sucky stock intake manifold, although im sure i could live with it...
Another thing i was thinking was B16A swap (cheap as dirt) and then find a GSR block to go with it so i have the best of both worlds....however, i know this setup would take me longer to complete..
What do you guys think? Any input you could give would be much appreciated. Thanks

Re: Choices -- read and decide (tampaSi)
For ease of the swap, and the relibality I would choose the b18c. The intake manifold doesn't suck. It is a good compromise for a street driven car. Low end TQ is nice and the intake manifold gives you the best of both worlds, I sure would like some. I currently have a b16a2 swap.
If you want, you could go with something like a b20 bottom and VTEC head, or get the GSR sleeved, bore it to 84mm, and you got the same displacement of the b20vtec.

What HXMan said.
The GSR intake manifold design is in my opinion the best street manifold on the B series. The type R is a great design, no doubt, but it is totally focused on the top end. They SCREAM above 7000 but off the line they actually are a little weaker than the GSR.
Look to the fact that all the truely great NA street engines from BMW to Porche, to Honda all use some sort of variable or dual stage manifold. The proof is in the engineering and those companies dont dick around with stuf that doesn't work.
Anyway, enough ranting. If you have the beans, get the Type R but for the money I think the GSR is best.
