CEL problem
I have had a constant CEL on for a week, which used to blink. Took the car to get the codes read and they could not get in. The motor is a 97 B18C5 and the ECU is an ODB 1 Skunk2 ecu. Any suggestions?

Re: CEL problem (ONELOVEB)
What kind of car? Really doesn't matter, but look above your ecu. There should be two blue connectors, sometimes there is only one, and sometimes they are brown. If there are two look for the two prong one. The other will be three prong if its there. Now grab a wire laying around(speaker wire will work). Cut it to be like 2-4 inches. Strip each side, stick one end in one side of the two prong connector, and the other end of the wire in the other side of the connector (making a loop). Then turn your key on (but do not start the car, key on engine off). Watch your check engine light when you do this. It will do two things:
Blink slowly a series of times. Write down how many times it blinks slowly.
Then it will blink quickly a series of times. Write down how many times it blinks quickly.
Say it blinked twice slowly, and three times quickly.
This means it is throwing code 23. Get my drift? When you do this write down all your codes in a reply. You can probably search the forum to get CEL codes. You can probably search the forum to get pics of the connectors I'm talking about as well. This is a start, hope it works out for you.

Re: maintenance light(ONELOVEB) (ONELOVEB)
what car? if its the 93 civic or the 94 teg in ur sig they shouldnt have a maintance light. is the car in limp mode? is it running rich and only revving to a certain rpm? also if u put a wire in, turn it to the on position and it doesnt blink it just stays on that usually means bad ecu or bad burn.....have someone reburn ur chip or try ur ecu in another car

Re: maintenance light(ONELOVEB) (civicflnum1)
it is a 94 ls chassis with 97 b18c5 motor running on odb1 skunk2 ecu. I disconnected the vss to check the cel and works, so don't have any codes. How do I get the "maint req" light to go out?
