Default Bleeding Radiator

I did a search and found out what to do, But my problem is that it didnt work. First, I have a 98HB W/H22 I am using the stock civic rad. and I am having cooling problems . Never had a problem before. Well I went to bleed the rad because I didn't do it before and I opened the radiator cap let the car idle and cracked open the bleeder valve on the thermostat housing. Nothing came out, I gave it a little throttle and then it started to sputter out. I let it run for about 10-15 min. but no consistant flow of antifreez out of the valve. What do you guys think my problem is.

With the radiator cap closed, and the bleeder valve closed, does it leak at all?

Change your fluid out??? Thermostat??

I'd change to del sol dual core...100 at autozone.....but I'd try flushing the etire rad out and block and starting with new fluid....hope this helps I had the same issue awhile back.....changed fluid and checked ever ything else...no problems yet...and its been 6 months..

Sounds like a lot of pockets of air...keep addin til it flows out the bleeder valve...might take longer than 15 minutes...

You need to make sure your car is at warm operating temps and the rad cap is off. Bleed the coolant and add coolant to the radiator as needed until you see a constant flow of coolant pouring out to get rid of any air pockets in the lines. This is usually done when the idle is surging but it's good to do anyways.
