B20VTEC Question....
I have a Del Sol VTEC(Factory B16A3). I'm considering swapping in a b20 block and using the head and tranny off my A3(as well as my timing belt and water pump) My question is, from the research I've done, I'm 99% percent sure the mounts from my b16 will work, but will my axles hold up? I'm guessing they should be ok since they are bseries axles? I plan on staying N/A. And, if that is the case, then this should be a fairily easy and inexpensive swap(b20block) considering I'll have my b16a3 to take everything that I need off of it? Also, will my stock ecu be compatible? I think it should as well.....I have done much searching but most people are swapping b20's into del sol S and Si...Thanks for the help

Re: B20VTEC Question.... (sickSOLvtec)
I recently went from a 94 del sol b16 to a b20vtec and your assumptions are true. Mounts are the same, tranny swapped over (in my case a y1 cable), axles are fine. My friend who assembled the motor and swapped it into my car, put down 180/129 (you will probably realize about 160-65/125ish if you stick with stock head/cams) with a pr3, adjustable fpr and itr cams. He thought the usdm p30 did a little better job of running the motor now that it's in my car. The fpr is set at 48 psi.
I have an s100/p28 that has a b20vtec basemap and we tried it without tuning. The p30 worked much, much better. Won't be using the hondata p28 til I can get to a dyno with a good tuner.
I have to admit, I'm a little leary of that 8000+rpm rev limit of the p30 with my stock bottom end. I find myself shifting well before, in the 7-7.5 range, but gawd the torque down low and mid-range... totally worth it. There are quite a few people on this board who seem to think that 8000 rpm is not a problem.
Disclaimer: I just realized that you actually have a del sol vtec, I'm driving a crx but it seems logical that since the b16a3 was replaced in my car by the b20vtec, the same would apply to yours.

true. the deck height is 8mm taller. go with a type r water pump, oil pump, and timing belt! also if you have the money invest in some good rods or at least arp rod bolts, and a z10 block girdle.
