Has anyone dropped a B16 into a Del Sol?
My friend has a Del Sol si, and has a 2000 B16a he's going to drop in. I'm probably going to help him with the swap, but i only have experiance with EFs. I know the Sol was available with a DOHC, but i'm not sure on what mounts or axles he will need.

It will drop right in. The Del Sol also came with a Si VTEC DOHC B16A, just like the newer Si's. You'll have to figure out wiring though. You're going from an OBD1 car to an OBD2 engine.

Do you know what kind of axles he is going to need? and mounts? Obviously the Del Sol Vtec stuff will do the job, but its kind of hard to find those used. I'm just wondering if any other parts are interchangable.

We put a EK b16a in a Del Sol and it was a pain in the ***. I can't go into details because we don't give out swap info. Plan on having the car down for a week or two and buying more crap.

I know that the si axles won't fit. D series don't use intermediate shafts, and B series do... All i really need to know is whether or not he's going to have to get Del Sol Vtec mounts and axles, or whether or not something else will fit... We're probably going to keep the thing OBD I, and worry about the engines sensors rather that converting the wiring.
