B20b Gas mileage in eg hatch questions.. need input
Im just trying to figure out what is going on with my car. last time I drove and recorded MPG's after about 150 miles of driving I got 25 MPG. My set up consists of a stock B20b Long block, complete LS intake manifold, 95 GSR trans, ITR header, 2.5 exhaust, EG6 OEM intake box and a p75 chipped on a stock B20B basemap from phearable.net. All of this is in my 92 cx hatch. which shows a 11.9 gallon tank (we'll just round to 12 for calculations) from what I saw on edmunds.com.
Well after topping it off ive since then driven 226.x miles and my gas gas gauge shows at a half tank. If I do the calculations (MPGxGAL=miles) I should run out of gas around 300 miles on my trip meter? So Id roughly have 70-80 miles let for a half a tank? Which kinda seems weird for getting 226 on the first half.
What are some of you getting out of a full tank of gas on a similar setup as mine?
What are you getting MPG wise?
Any idea on what I could possibly get with a LS trans?

my civics tank is 11.9 capacity.. So we'll round to 12 gal.. Last Time I topped off drove and recorded mpg I was at 25.032...
so, 12x25=300
I'm at 226.8 at a half a tank.. So I'm trying to figure out what the heck is going on. If I'm getting wat better mpg then last time or if I'll run out of gas before my gauge say I'm out.
guess I'll just fill it up and see how many gallons I put in.. Stay tuned ppl

No. Calculating gas mileage doesn't work that way. The fuel gauge isn't accurate for percentages.
Top off your tank and reset your trip meter. Drive. The next time you fill up, divide your trip meter by the number of gallons put in on the CURRENT fill, not the last fill. That is your gas mileage for that tank. Any other method is wrong.

This is all gonna vary by driver, tires, tire psi, elevation etc.
For example: back when I had my 96 gti vr6 I would get 28-34 mpg. It was a 2.8 v6. Showed it on the dash current mpg, miles on tank so far etc. BUT when I stomped on it it would drop to 8-12 mpg so small point to consider is how much do you smash the gas on that tank?
