B20 VTEC Help!
Gah.... I hate electrical.
I had a B20V in my Ef hatch myself.
I took the harness off, fixed all of my mess wiring work, fixed what need to be fix, replace sensors, then i examined my harness from the ECU to the fuse box to insure i had 100% sucess without electrical issues. So far ive had no problems. Car has had 5 motor swaps, just hit over 300k miles.
I figured this car has had multiple ECU's switched in and out of it, and every honda head knows, clips can be a bitch and we tend to pull from the wires than the clip itself at times, or atleast i do also from what i see from people around locally.
Not sure if you want to and i know i dont like to. But be probably a good time to take the harnesss out of the engine bay, the ECU harness, sprawl it out and take some time examine all the wires/pins make SURE they are 100% connected with no play.
Then wrap it all with electrical tape tight and secure so it doesnt rub any where and cause grounding issues, mine it was a HUGE mess, i had wires exposed I couldnt even see [ B series swaps in EF's are tight fit ].
Now my harness is all clean, wrapped, dont have to worry about exposed. Older car man, people dont take care of their stuff and sell it other people with out telling, then becomes ur problem.
Good luck man, probably didnt answer ur question, just sharing what i had to do to my EF...

Double checking, clean the surface of ur ground points. Had that issue too, ive replaced mine, car runs little better. Valve cover, Thermostate, and battery/transmission ground. i did it, my starting and everything runs 100 times better. before would start with lights dimming even with brand new battery.
Just another thought.
Honda's can be wierd man. Mine has throw CEL's that didnt even match the problem. Shitty ECU at that time, replaced that in a heart beat XD

Yeah man I'm getting cel 15 ignition output signal. And Iv tried everything but yes my harness is a MESS! I have random clipped wires switch 12v lol I don't understand this thing. Wish you lives near me! Car is forsale as of now for 1700. Rust free shell too.

I just got another harness, it was made for tuck. But the ecu, and car harness itself is in pretty bad shape. I'll look it over.
I purchased A 1990 CRX with the B20 Vtec swap. I drove the car for two days, then one day I decided to go for a little cruise. I hopped in the car and the car just continuously turns over with no spark throwing CEL 15 Ignition Output Signal. I tried a different distributer and still nothing, Im getting power to it though.
I also tried relays, Checked ecu, And checked all the grounds. The car is currently at another Honda Tech members garage being worked on. I figured I would make a post for further help.
I wanna also throw out there the the wiring throughout the car is a mess! Any suggestions? Would be highly appreciated! Thanks again guys!
I understand this could be in the wrong thread. But I wasnt getting any further information in Element/Crv. Even though it is a b20 engine. It is a 90 CRX.
