b20 swap?
alright guys. so im pretty sure imma get flamed. just like i do on every post on here......but i have the chance to pick up a b20 w/16 built head. for $800 and found a guy selling a b18 tranny with a fidenza flywheel and a Excedy oem clutch for $1000. Just wondering if it would be worth swapping into my wifes 98 civic LX automatic or not. how big exactly of a PITA it would be. i can try and do most of the work i can by myself but i probably will need help. Im not a civic guy at all. I have only really worked on nissan's Lol. cant really find to much info. but if anyone has any write up's or anything that would help that would be awesome like i said before not much of a honda guy but ya never know with this project.....lol. i might even completely gut the car. seeing that we do have 3 cars........and its just me and my wife. Thanks guys!

well it boggs down really bad from stop and go. and i think the exhaust gaskets on the ebay header are shot LOL it sounds like its straight piped 3in exhaust LOL. Imma change all the exhaust gaskets and put in new spark plugs and see if that fixes it.

It's really not that much work for a manual swap, I just did one on my 97 dx coupe, with help from one friend, it was a eight hour day but we got it done, with that being my first of expiriances on cars, not a hard job, just time consuming, I just researched the hell out of it and it was pretty strait forward.

And I also looked in to getting it done by a shop, even at a friends shop he was goin to give me a flat rate of 400$, most shops charge up to 100 an hour, and that's just a tranny swap

Re: b20 swap?
about how much they run $ wise? and what is stock torqe on them? They are heavier than most B series engines correct me if im wrong but they doent have that much torqe compared to a B also so why put a B20 in a Integra, they are more heavy than civic bodys. Im thinking about swapping soon into my 97 civic ex to actually give it some growl instead of purr lol, not sure on what motor will be my best power to weight ratio yet though.

Re: b20 swap?
I would rather have a GSR swap and just use a LS crank and rods for added torque. Just not a fan of the whole vtec head on a non vtec motor!!!
