Get it tuned but it should run just fine on the P75 ECU just no Vtec and a little lean.

i would go with xenocron. there prices are pretty good, shipping is fast and good customer service over the phone. plus they have a points reward system if you buy from them alot thats cool.

I can connect the vtec direct with a switch though.

Seelback: yea they got good deals I will order one from them.

2.0L motor will want more fuel than a 1.8L. No dont hook up Vtec like that. You need to have the car tuned properly, if not once Vtec engages you are still running on the non Vtec fuel maps and will be even leaner in the high RPMs.

The vtec solenoid gets connected to a specific ecu pin, google instructions on how to hook it up. The ecu will then command the vtec solenoid to open at the correct time. Having a vtec head w/o tuning on a non-vtec ecu can cause a loss in power and even engine damage. By loss in power I mean it can be slower than a base LS motor.

You'll need a P28-equivalent ecu with a GSR map on it with a bit more fuel via the fuel maps or a bit more fuel pressure. After that get someone to at least street tune it.

Ok I just found a good instruction pic.
So p75 is no good? What if I put a gsr map on it?

If it is an OBD1 P75 then you can chip it and tune it if it is a OBD2 then it is only good for emissions if you car is 96+.

you can use a p75, but you have to have vtec components added to it.

Only a OBD1 P75 will work. Since you have an EF then you dont have to worry out emission so much. Oh and an EF is OBD0.
