Default B18C5 wiring into a '96 EK

If I purchase a '96-'97 spec B18C5 swap for my '96 civic EK dx, would wiring be fairly simple? Could I just take out my stock Dx harness and put in the Type R harness and plug everything in, or would I have to cut plugs off of the Type R harness and put them on my Dx harness? Let me know. Also, if indeed I do need to cut plugs off of the R harness and put them on the Dx harness, would wires would I need to add? Please include colors and pinouts. THANKS

OK listen to me. 96-98 civics are like the easiest car as far as wring goes.. What you need to do is spend about 100 dollars on a 96-98 civic ex harness. Make sure its a 96-98. This harness will have all the vtec wiring and the knock sensor that you need. On the 96-98 the harness is all one piece all the way to the ecu. There is only one plug in the engine bay and its on the driver said shock tower. Only thing is that you might have to extend some stuff here and there for fitment but you wont have to add any ecu wiring. Happy swapping.

kinda alot of money...
i'd use your stock wiring harness, take the wires that you dont have on your stock harness IE vtec, and jsut do the wiring yourself
save urself a 100 bux

Would an Si harness work for my '96 EK? Steve from Password JDM said it would be a direct plug in. Let me know. Just want to check.

Wrong

You can use the '99-'00 si harness only if your civic is a '99-'00.

ok great if you have an ex!!! What about when you have a dx,lx,or cx????
just because you have a ex harness that still doesn't give you the gas tank pressure sensor or have the right O2 sensor wiring???????? ThAT STUFF is wired in the car not the engine harness???
