It should run, but will not run great. I suggest finding a P73 ECU or just getting your P72 chipped.

ok, thanks. what would i need to run a p73 ecu, would have to mod the wire harness at all. what is the real different between the p72 and the p73?
should i just sell the p72 and go with a hondata or aem?

what year gsr is this, what obd are the ecu(s)?
you say b18c5 from 1998, so it's US market- we got that much...
without knowing more info about what you have, i can tell you the difference between the two ecu's is the p72 controls IAB's for that funky looking gsr manifold and the maps on the p73 are setup for an engine that is equipped with different cams, head, intake manifold, exhaust, compression blah blah blah...

Re: B18C5 swap in GSR, running a P72 ecu?? (builthatch)
sorry about that.
about the car it a 95' GSR shell. the motor is a 98 B18C5 with OBD1 conversation, i'm running a GSR tranny, don't know what year. i bought the car with the swap. rebuilding the motor on it now, crack a conn rod bearing on #1 cylinder. do you think it was casue by running the P72 ECU?
is that enough info for you?

hmm...you cracked one? was it worn/discolored or just broken? i'd imagine other things would happen before detonation could cause that much hammering that far down but whew, i dunno.
typically that stuff happens from dirty oil (broken parts contaminate oil) or oil starvation.

How is that OBD1 Conversation going lol.
Get a chipped P28 or other similiar ecu to run an obd1 vehicle. Sell your P72 so someone can run IAB's on like an H22.
You could chip your P72 and disable IAB's on it as well.

Re: B18C5 swap in GSR, running a P72 ecu?? (eg585)
well...your swap is not that different than those who have a gsr engine with a skunk intake manifold.
the best bet to see about technical info re: internals is to get a Helms manual for Acura Integra, say...1997 or 98, since it'll have LS, ITR and GSR included in the manual. This will have most of the information you could ever want for an obd2 integra. for general bearing info, you could refer to the redpepper helms hosted on their site-
http://www.redpepperracing.com/technical/main.php
they have a 94 teg manual on there. in the engine block section, it'll sell you how to tell what bearings you have.
