Default b18c siezed, is head still good?

I have the oppurtunity to buy a gsr head off this kid's siezed gsr at a very attractive price. I was just wondering if the head could still be good. The engine siezed in third gear. The thing I am most concerned about is the camshaft bearings and if they are worn out of spec. Drop a line tell me what you think? thanks

Somebody correct me if I am wrong, but I thought the cams rode on the head....no bearings for the cams. At least, my friend's b16 did. ???

No bearings, just journals. Not repalaceable.

Why did the engine sieze? Oil starvation? Only way to be sure is to take the cams out and check the cam journals.

yeah oil starvation, but I was hoping that the crank welded to the mains before any real damage could occur to the head. I'll rip it off and post back w specs and some pics.

When you say siezed up do you mean it physically wont crank over at all? Youd have to run a motor into the ground to get it to that stage. Thats gotta be well past the spun bearing stage.

The head will starve for oil before the block will. I would guess that the head is more damaged than the block. Stay away.
