b18C-r swap into civic EG6 vti
hi. i have a civic VTi 1993 hatchback original(b16a2), and im going to swap my new motor in my car wich is from integra type R 2000. i am going to use my b16a2 gearbox.
i have the B18c-r motor, wiring harness, ECU and the key to the motor.
so the question is, can i use my current wiring harness and use the ITR ECU and key ?
what do i have to do ?
thanks

IAM NOT 110% SURE OF THESE STEPS but as far as I remember we did the following to operate a 97 b18cr in an eg vti.
unhook all the sensors of the b16 and mark(with stickers where they were and what they were for)them. then remove the longblock and tranny.
now bolt the tranny and itr together but also remember that it is a perfect time to changes things that are much easier accessed while the motor is out such as w-pump,t-belt,clutch, so you might aswell change all those too.
now reinstall the itr motor and rehook all the old b16 wires to the proper sensors, do not worry about left over sensors that are on the b18cr block since you will be using the original b16 ecu with an obd1 and not the b18cr ecu(obd2), you simply leave them alone, unhooked no problem!
now dont forget to use the b16 distributor since you have the b16 ecu it will require the obd1 dizzy.
then go and install every modification you have and get the car tuned as soon as possible and your done.

Re: b18C-r swap into civic EG6 vti
you have two paths to choose, both that will work perfectly!
1) you use the b16a2 ecu, wiring harness, distributor and run your new b18cr motor with only the sensors the old b16a2 used to use,but you will need to dyno tune the whole system in this method! meaning once you do the swap like mentioned above you will be able to run but it will most likely be to lean and all the map figures will be off so you simply tune it,this is very important and if you do not have a tuner available then choose the second method.do not forget since you will be dyno tuning it,it would be the best time to invest in all the parts you want to have in the future and install them before the dyno tune so the tuner can tailore tune the map to those changes aswell, this way you wont have go tune it twice.hope I didnt make that too complicated. I can express myself much better if you know German!
2) you use the b18cr wiring harness, ecu and distributor but this will involve buying a new o2 sensor as your original car came with one o2 sensor but the obd2 b18cr requires two, then you will need to find the wiring diagram and so on on internet sites and Iam not very sure about the rest but my fellow friend too had an b16a2 vti and swaped a b18cr in it and was told through many sources that the first method would be much easier.

with a set of intake, header, cat delete, muffler and tune you should be able to get 205 to 210hp at the flywheel or around 180whp depending on the dyno, that is a good number for european streets, you dont want to push more power per lt and loose bottom end power with the trafic you have

thank you very much again, i will choose the first method using the B16 ECU and so on..
that means i will use the B16a2 carkeys and so on ?
