B17 cable tranny not mating to 95 LS block? WTF!
Trying to put a swap together for a friend! Using 95 LS motor and flywheel with YS1 B17 cable tranny and clutch. I got the clutch and flywheel onto the motor and the tranny fits in the clutch disc splines. But will not sit flush or mate even with the motor. The two upper tranny bolts near the head bolt up fine and sit flush but the other bolts on the tranny and motor side aren't straight even? It's like all the other bolt holes are **** eyed and if some elongating to the block holes is required. I've never had this problem but does have anyone have any ideas? By the way the clutch is an Excedy OEM looking clutch and the clutch disc does fit on the tranny splines ( i checked before installing the clutch)!

Took the clutch off and reinstalled it and the tranny. The tranny fit on perfect this time. I'm guessing i didn't wiggle the tranny enough and the main shaft didn't go thru the pilot bearing? Thanks for helping guyz.

you stole the words out of my mouth, next time only use one dowel pin(PIA). just remember where it is, so that when you install the tranny you'll know when the tranny is aligned correctly!

Those dowel pins are there for a reason. It is the same reason that there are 2 of them between the head and the block.
The bolts may hold it in there well, but I would hate to see someone who's tranny can shift around on them. That would be hell on a clutch.
