B16A Vs D15B (Forced Induction) Vs B18c ???
Hello People,
Im new to this forum thingy but its the best way to find answers to my questions.
I currently drive a little Civic EG running a ***** D15B. Its slow, non responsive and ultimately, nothing special.
My car is currently metallic blue. I am running a twin system out to quad tips. Its lowered on Pedders and on king springs. Car is wearing black widow front bar, buddyclub 2 sideskirts and buddyclub 2 rear bar. Front is carrying a CF buddyclub bonnet.
I have a couple of options, mainly relating to engine comparisons.
1st Option.
B16A, Toda Stage c Camshaft, Toda Valve Springs and retainers, Motec ECU.
2nd Option.
B18C JDM DC-2 Type R (stock)
3rd Option.
Rebuild D15B and feed it T3/4 turbo.
The purpose is to get this car nice and balanced. Nice and constant power and of course, smoke a few v6s while im @ it. It will be driven on a daily basis so nothing too hardcore. :D
Also, I like the shape of the EG so changing to another car is not possible.
*My pocket is limited to around the 10k mark*
Let me know what you guys think and gimme some feedback.

You said this car would be daily driven and you have 10k, I would invest in a stock B18C and invest in something else. When I say B18C, I'm talking about a GSR. What B18C are you talking about? JDM Type R.

i wouldnt go boost cuz your DD it.
d15b has not much aftermarket support AKA rods. If you want to really make good power you have to go with a d16
go b18c

it's been proven that d15b and d16z6 rods are identical. so far the only thing you'll have trouble finding for the d15b are pistons

Re: (black_dohc)
GSR motor has much stouter internals and when you want to go faster later (you will, trust me, speed is addictive) boost it. Turbo LS is not a bad idea, I have a friend running the same setup running in the lower 12s in a hb with stock internals (im still a bit confused on how they did it), with tuning of course.

if you have 10000, K is the only way. You can get it done with less than 10g's with haggling and very diligent pursuit of a good deal. Its only going to cost me around 7300 if i do all the work myself which i will.

Re: B16A Vs D15B
everyone is always going to say B and jump on the bandwagon, seems you've made up your mind anyway as to what you want to do.
I say boost the D and smoke B16's, B18's B 20's all day long with a smile on your face. I wouldn't even consider K cause of the cost. You could get a nice D16z6, build it up STRONG with a really good turbo kit for under 5k.......do some homework and don't give into peer pressure.
Good luck.
