Default to k20 or not to k20

i know people are tired of hearing this...
but i have a little bit of money saved up... enough to do what i want.
i had a 2000 si turboed but like 50% of the blue si's with heavy aftermarket parts , it got stolen... i know have a 97 coupe dx with a b16... i was on the way to another b16 turbo when i stopped myself to think since winter is here i have time to think.... i dont want the jdm k20... just usdm type-s with a jackson racing supercharger at 8 psi.... fully tuned kpro.... or should i shut the expletive up screw the hype get a b18 block build it up and have a sweet fast turboed coupe..... i know the k20 supercharged would put it down on the dyno as well.... thats why im stuck as far as my goals i want a solid 12 second car with or w/o slicks and somethign that isnt going to blow up sometime soon it would be a once or twice a month drag car the my daily..... what do you guys think?
thanks and srry for the long post

All the supercharged K20's I've dealt with don't run nearly as well as those with mild turbo setups. Also, I see more consistent numbers using the AEM EMS than the KPro. The K20 is definately a superior starting point when looking into a forced induction setup. In stock form they usually aren't as fast as most people would like to think they are, but they're still faster than most of the B-series swaps out there. If given the option, I'd start with a K as opposed to a B, but for the same amount of money you can make the B go much faster.

[shameless plug]I have a K-series EMS for sale if you're interested.[/shameless plug]

im quessing your k series ems is the aem ems in that case include me as very interested.... but i need to know how to make the k do a solid 12 with the jrsc.... or should i build a mild turbo for the k.... i just dont want to go too deep into this project with my insurance money i was able to make myself happy with the looks of a red 97 coupe as opposed to my ebp si.. it lowered rota slipstreams 15' password cf lip , hood and trunk... itr seats itr red custom carpet b16 etc.... now i miss the speed of the si i once owned.... i cought the boost bug with my si so thats why i choose the type-s over type -r k20 becuz im boosting it anyway....u think my ek k20 8 psi supercharged will run a 13.... low 13 maybe 12.9??
and im lookin for someone intersted in doing the swap... where are u located?
thanks
kevin

A k20a2 with ips k2's on kpro will run 12's in your chassis.

Yeah, I think you could get into the 12's if you hit a 2.0 60/ft. Let me know when you need help with the swap, I'm local. Join k20a.org and search my name for some threads that you'll be interested in.

You're not going to hit 250whp. With that setup, you'll see 225-235whp. That's fuckign beast.

we just did a k20 in my buddys 94 hatch and its a nasty swap but its also a nasty price to. i think he's spent about 11k on just the swap alone. if you got the money id say go for it but we put a 98 jdm itr swap and a Drag turbo kit runing 10 lbs boost in my del sol and i put 271 hp to the wheel and i didnt spend no 11k for that setup.

Get a direct port 80 shot. That'll put you in the low 12's.
