Hi,

I'm running this P30 ECU with a 'chip'. But i notice that the ECU has got no knock sensor board. Is this safe?

its just as safe as any other car without a knock sensor. alll you need to do is check your ignition timing from time to tima and you will not have any problems.

if it has no knock sensor board then its a P08 ECU, that has been rechipped to DOHC VTEC specs

P28 doesn't have a knock sensor either...

SPOON, Mugen, Toda, etc. ECUs are nothing more than re-chipped P28 ECUs - NO knock sensor.

If it's good enough for them, then it's good enough for me

Yes, the P72 reads for the knock sensor.

However, you only need the P72 if you've got a dual-butterfly manifold from a B18C1 or H22A. don't go out of your way to get a P72 unless you need an ECU that will activate the secondaries.

I think the knock sensor board in a P30 ECU can be easily removed. This chipped ECU im running is really good. But i've got to dyno to find out. So far according to my 'butt' dyno....it ROCKS !
