b16 or b18 swap
Hi all,
I'm planning to swap my d16 engine to either JDM b16a or b16b or b18c.
The question is, is it worth it to get b16b or b18c (JDM type R) which cost around USD3000 to USD4400 or should I rather get a cheaper one such as b16a which cost roughly USD1000 or USD2000 since I'll completely rebuild the engine (cams etc etc)?
I've looked around about the performance package for each of these engines, they are about the same price and the expected power outputs are very close. So what would it be, cheap b16a or more expensive b16b or b16c.
cheers

Your asking a kind of opinionated answer so Ill throw in my 2 cents. I would get the B16a swap as a whole and find a cheap LS block elsewhere. combine for teh all wonderful LSVtec. youll have a great tranny the ECU and the head all ready to go. This will also save you money total and since your building it all anyway you'll end up above B18c and B16b output wise. once again just my opinion.

qft! I didn't get the type r motor, just the JDM GSR, but the nice thing about the type r motor is that it's hand built, so you know you're getting that extra little bit of quality.
