Default B16A or B18C?

I am coming across a B16A from a guy who wrecked his si and wants $2500 for a full swap. But i've been saving for a B18C for a long time and can't find a good, legit one. Would you guys settle for a B16A? Need some opinions from B16 owners and B18C owners? Which would you prefer?

it may have little tq
but our cars are lightweight doesnt require as much as mustangs and others

i should just get the ls block since you been wanting it for a long time
if you can afford $2500 now u can easily get a jdm ls block for cheaper then that

Yeah, it's the torque that I'm worried about. Want more torque too. That's why I'm torn between B16A and GSR.

well it depends on what you want to do. If you want to go all motor or boost. Get the b18c if you want boost. Just buy what ever engine you really want. What ever engine you do buy, check out the website in my sig...they have a sick itb for the b16a and b18c engines.

1200$? thats like 2 mini-me swaps or a complete LS swap for ITB's? isnt that useless if u go boost?

they are both good engines, but if you already have 2500 saved up i would just save a little more for the b18c

I just put my B16a in as well last night. Having issues getting the radiator hozes but everything about the swap has been a breeze. I originally intended to go with the gsr as well but I settled for the B16 becasue I am not looking for hte most. I intend to turbo up to about 245 hp and call it a day (building the engine up as needed). For cost effectiveness and what I am looking for, the B16a-Sir11, having the same hp(170) minus 7-9lbs of tq in comparison to the USDM B18c1, is more cost efficient. Put your money where you want it. GSR's are damn nice don't get me wrong...

tell the guy with the wrecked Si no thanks. The same kind of driving that causes acidents also spits of crappy motors and for 2500 you have other options

Drove the B16 today for the first time, it isn't like being born again (how interesting that would be), but it does feel good... real good. With my leftover$ I am going to go build her up now and have me some fun. Note: the JDM B16 mated up with a little twisting of my aftermarket exhaust perfectly and CAI. A little spot hole for the purge control valve and a little pin-trick for another sensor and that was it, no engine codes or anything. Wish you luck...
